Rating
Description
On March 19, 2024, at approximately 3:09 PM, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper initiated a traffic stop on a black Mercedes Benz traveling at 85 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-75 in Collier County. The vehicle also had illegal window tint. The driver, identified as Yvenson Pierristil, was found without a driver’s license, which had been suspended since February 13, 2024.
During the stop, the trooper noticed signs of nervousness and detected a strong odor of burnt cannabis. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 70 grams of marijuana and 34 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms). Pierristil was arrested for possession of marijuana over 20 grams, distribution of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Throughout the stop, Pierristil was confrontational, using profanity and making threatening statements toward the trooper, including mentioning voodoo. The trooper requested a high bond or no bond due to the severity of the charges and Pierristil's threatening behavior.
