🎭 Plot Summary:
Angels Charles (Clifton Webb) and Arthur (Edmund Gwenn) are tasked with convincing a young cherub named Item (Gigi Perreau) to stop waiting to be born to Lydia (Joan Bennett) and Jeff Bolton (Robert Cummings). The Boltons, a successful Broadway couple, are too engrossed in their careers to start a family. Charles takes human form as "Slim" Charles, a wealthy Montanan, and attempts to influence the couple's relationship by posing as a potential investor for Jeff's next play. Despite his efforts, the Boltons decide to separate. However, when Lydia develops a sudden craving for peanuts, Jeff realizes she is pregnant with Item, leading to their reconciliation.
