How Trevor Berbick Was KILLED In a CHURCH
Explore the unbelievable story of Trevor Berbick. Before becoming heavyweight champion, Berbick worked as a mess hall supervisor in Jamaica, dealing with rowdy customers daily. No one could have predicted this cafeteria worker would go on to shock the boxing world. Starting as a complete unknown in 1976, Berbick bulldozed through legends like Muhammad Ali, punishing "The Greatest" in his final fight. This former food service worker even became WBC Heavyweight Champion before facing a young Mike Tyson. Along the way, he battled boxing icons like Larry Holmes, Greg Page, and Pinklon Thomas - proving a canteen worker could compete with anyone.
His biggest moment came as Muhammad Ali's final opponent in 1981, winning decisively and ending Ali's career. Berbick claimed the WBC heavyweight title in 1986 but lost it to a 20-year-old Mike Tyson in his next fight, becoming part of Tyson's historic rise. His career declined afterward, retiring in 2000 with a record of 50-11-1 (33 KOs).
Tragically, in 2006, Berbick's life ended violently in Jamaica, murdered by his nephew Harold Berbick in a family land dispute. This documentary reveals the full arc of his life - from Olympic hopes to world champion, and ultimately to his shocking death at 52. Through exclusive interviews and rare footage, we uncover how a man who traded punches with boxing's immortals met his end at the hands of his own family.
